Because every project is different, my rates cover a wide range and fall roughly midpack among professional editors and writers.
Fees and schedule are negotiated before work begins, based on my review of a sample (and a short test edit if appropriate), or a thorough description of your project.
I cost out jobs according to systems that work best for each type of task, and can adapt them to per-word, per-page, per-hour, or per-project to meet your parameters. Our e-mail exchanges comprise a contract unless you or your organization requires a specific contract form, in which case we’ll work with that.
Payment is due upon delivery of the completed project except for book manuscripts, which require a deposit. Midpoint invoicing may also apply to large projects, and balance is due upon completion. Variations are negotiable, and discounts are available for certain services. Shipping fees apply for hardcopy work.
